Matt Robbins, president and CEO, River City Bank, Rome, has been elected by his peers in north Georgia serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA).

“Matt brings a breadth of experience across community banking and a thoughtful, service-oriented approach to leadership that will be a valuable addition to our board,” said Susan V. Moss, GBA chairman and president and CEO, Planters & Citizens Bank, Camilla. “He’s among a new generation of Georgia bank CEOs whose insight and commitment to the industry will help support the association’s efforts to serve banks across Georgia.”

Robbins has nearly 20 years of community banking experience. Before joining River City Bank in October 2023 as chief banking officer and later president and CEO, he served at Greater Community Bank and North Georgia National Bank in a variety of roles, including senior lending officer and chief banking officer. His experience spans commercial banking, retail banking, mortgage banking, credit administration, financial technology and executive leadership.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in consumer economics from the University of Georgia and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, where he received special recognition for outstanding performance in bank management.

Long active with GBA, Robbins previously served three years on the Leadership GBA Board of Directors representing his peers in north Georgia.

In his community, Robbins serves on the boards of the Rome Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Calhoun-Gordon County Community Foundation and is a Champion board member for Extra Special People Inc.
