Wall Street, expected to open in November. Calhoun joins the bank’s growing family of Northwest Georgia communities, following the recent opening of its Cartersville branch. As River City Bank grows, its focus remains the same: local leadership, local decision-making, and genuine relationships with the people and businesses that make each community strong.

“Having been born and raised in Calhoun and still calling it home, I’m especially proud to bring River City Bank to this community,” said Matt Robbins, President and CEO of River City Bank. “We’ve assembled an experienced team of bankers who care deeply about their neighbors and the success of Gordon County. We look forward to serving local families and businesses with the personal attention, local decisions, and lasting relationships that define our approach to community banking.”

To lead the bank’s expansion into Gordon County, River City Bank has assembled an experienced banking team that includes Chris Pierce, Executive Vice President and Gordon County Market President; Zab Mendez, Senior Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager; Adam Green, Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager; Stacey Smith, Vice President and Branch Manager; and Melody Ogles, Universal Banker. Together, they bring extensive experience in lending, branch management, business development, and customer service, along with a shared commitment to relationship-based community banking.

Pierce brings more than 20 years of banking, executive leadership, and business development experience, including service as a bank president and chief executive officer in Calhoun. A longtime member of the Gordon County community, he has held leadership roles with the Calhoun Rotary Club, United Way of Gordon County, Gordon County Historical Society, and Boys & Girls Club.

“I am honored to lead River City Bank’s expansion into Gordon County alongside such an experienced and dedicated team,” said Chris Pierce. “The bank’s commitment to personal relationships, local decision-making, and exceptional service reflects the values that have guided my banking career. We look forward to welcoming familiar faces, meeting new neighbors, and helping local families and businesses grow.”

Mendez brings more than 25 years of banking experience to his role as Senior Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager. A longtime Dalton resident, he has built his career around relationship banking and community involvement. His service includes involvement with the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce, Dalton Civitan Club, and Hamilton Health Care System Board of Trustees.

Green joined the bank in 2025 and will transition from River City Bank’s Rome office to Calhoun, continuing as Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager. With more than eight years of experience spanning financial analysis, portfolio management, commercial lending, and SBA lending, he will continue to help business customers meet their financing needs and plan for growth.

Smith brings more than 40 years of banking and customer service experience to her role as Vice President and Branch Manager. A graduate of Calhoun High School, she has an extensive background in branch leadership and business development. Her community involvement includes service with the Harris Arts Center, Family Resource Center, and Voluntary Action Center.

Ogles brings nearly five years of banking experience and more than 20 years of customer service experience to her role as Universal Banker. With a background in teller and vault operations, and operational leadership, she will help customers with their everyday banking needs while building lasting relationships in the community.

The Calhoun office will offer a full range of personal and business banking services, including deposit accounts, consumer and commercial lending, treasury management, mortgage services, and digital banking solutions. Customers can expect a team that takes time to understand their needs and helps them find solutions for everyday banking and long-term goals.
