Sierra Mantooth Joins River City Bank as Branch Manager

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Sierra Mantooth as Branch Manager of the Bank’s Rome location. In this role, she will be responsible for providing financial solutions for clients as well as managing and developing the retail team.

A Rome native, Sierra attended Georgia Highlands College where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She has a passion for connecting with people and is recognized for her team-oriented mindset. “I am thrilled to be returning to River City Bank,” said Sierra. “The culture, customers, and my colleagues are what I love most. In this new role, I’m excited to help our clients reach their financial goals by guiding them to the right products and services at River City Bank.”

Jonathan Jones Promoted to SVP, Senior Credit Officer

River City Bank is proud to announce the promotion of Jonathan Jones to Senior Vice President, Senior Credit Officer. Jonathan joined River City Bank in June 2019 as Vice President, Senior Credit Administrator and in his short tenure has made a significant impact to the bank’s credit department.  He has worked strategically to successfully improve and strengthen the department’s credit workflow, credit underwriting process, and credit decisioning velocity, resulting in increased operational efficiencies. In his role as Senior Credit Officer, Jonathan is responsible for the oversight of all credit related risk management functions of the organization.

William Wade Joins River City Bank as Senior VP/Commercial Relationship Manager

River City Bank is proud to announce the addition of William S. Wade as Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager. In his role as Commercial Relationship Manager, Will’s responsibilities will include identifying and expanding business relationships, and delivering financial products and services to both new and existing clients in North Georgia. Will joins our team with over 20 years of Real Estate, Commercial Banking, and Senior Management Banking experience, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Market President for Pinnacle Bank in Lumpkin/Dawson Counties.

Will has established a successful career in both banking and public service, serving for over two decades primarily in Dawson and Lumpkin Counties. In 2017 he was recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia Trend’s “40 under 40” recipients. Will was also nominated by his peers to serve in 2017 – 2018 as the Rotary District 6910 Assistant District Governor for Dawson, Lumpkin and White Counties for Rotary International.

Will is deeply connected to the communities of North Georgia volunteering and serving on multiple civic organizations, to include serving on the Dawson County Board of Education from 2004 – 2020, Division of Child Support Services, Georgia’s 9th Congressional District Representative for the NSBA Advocacy Institute just to name a few. Additionally, Will was appointed by former Governor, Sonny Perdue, to serve on the Georgia Mountain Regional Commission, the NSBA Advocacy Institute, and most recently was elected last November as the State House Representative for District 9. Will has a passion for serving the citizens, small businesses, and communities of North Georgia and feels he best serves those needs as a banker and an elected official for our state.

Will and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Sheffield-Wade, Assistant Principal at Lumpkin County Middle School, have two children and reside in Dawson County. They are devoted members of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Dahlonega, Georgia and are very active in both Lumpkin and Dawson Counties.

River City Bank Hosts a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening Celebration in Blairsville, Georgia

River City Bank hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration on August 3rd at its new Mortgage and Loan Office in Union County, Georgia. The easily accessible location is just off the square in downtown Blairsville at 215 Blue Ridge Street, Suite A.

Jamie Tallent, President and CEO of River City Bank commented, “It is exciting to expand our geographic footprint to serve the lending needs of North Georgia and we are delighted to be a part of the Blairsville community. Andrew Williams Sharpens Skills at Banking School

Andrew Williams recently attended the 2021 on-campus session of the Georgia Banking School as a first-year student. Established in 1961, the Georgia Banking School is a three-year specialized school run by the Georgia Bankers Association. The purpose of the school is to prepare bank managers to effectively and profitably serve their communities by developing a thorough understanding of banking practices, regulations and management principles.

During the course of the three-year program, participants complete an annual one-week residence session at the University of Georgia in Athens as well as home study problems between sessions. The school provides a well-balanced curriculum featuring UGA faculty members, veteran bankers and other industry experts and specialists.

Williams serves as Senior Vice President, Director of Corporate Strategy, for River City Bank. He works directly with executive management and the Board of Directors to lead the design of strategy across various high-value business projects, encompassing a broad range of responsibilities including corporate strategy, portfolio strategy, target market, competitive assessments, and future growth opportunities.

Rebecca Gilliam Receives Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Rebecca Gilliam, Director of Technology & Digital Services, has earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. This certification is offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is recognized throughout the world as the gold standard of project management. A PMP is an experienced project manager who is certified and trained to direct teams toward a project goal.

To obtain a PMP certification, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:

    • Education – Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university, and at least 35 hours of formal project management education.
    • Experience – At least 4,500 hours leading and directing projects.
    • Knowledge – Pass the PMP examination

River City Bank Announces New Mortgage & Loan Office in Blairsville, Georgia

River City Bank announces it has opened a mortgage and loan office in Blairsville, Georgia. The office is in the heart of Blairsville, near the square, at 215 Blue Ridge Street, Suite A and will be open to clients beginning November 2, 2020.

Jamie Tallent, President and CEO of River City Bank commented, “The Mortgage and Loan Production Office expands River City Bank’s geographic footprint, which strategically aligns with our growth objectives allowing our bank to serve the lending needs of North Georgia. We have assembled a dynamic team of local bankers who together represent over 120 years of combined banking experience to serve the citizens and businesses of Union County and the surrounding North Georgia area. The team is led by Andy Williams, Market Executive. Andrew Williams III (Andy) was born and raised in Summerville, Georgia. He is a 1971 graduate of Chattooga High School and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 1975. Andy has over 42 years of banking experience as the founding President of Eagle Bank and Trust in Statesboro, Georgia (1989-1998) and most recently as the President of United Community Bank of Blairsville, Georgia (1998-June 2019). He served as the Chairman of the Georgia Bankers Association (2009-2010).

Tammy Collins, Relationship Manager, is a native of Blairsville, Georgia. She graduated from the University of North Georgia in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. She is also a graduate of the Georgia Banking School in Athens, Georgia. Tammy began her banking career in 1986 at United Community Bank in Blairsville, Georgia where she held positions of teller, loan assistant, and relationship manager. After 34 years, she now joins the River City Bank team.

Kim Walker, Mortgage Loan Originator, has lived in Blairsville and served the North Georgia area in banking for 25 years. Kim has 32 years of banking industry experience, including roles as loan processor, loan closer, attorney closing associate, mortgage underwriter, appraisal apprentice, and most recently as a mortgage loan originator at United Community Bank in Blairsville.

Scott Nanney, Commercial Relationship Manager, graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2001 with a degree in Finance. He is also a graduate of the Georgia Banking School in Athens, Georgia. Scott has served the North Georgia market for the past 17 years as a commercial and consumer lender.

Jessica Rutledge Joins River City Bank as VP/Commercial Relationship Manager

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Jessica Rutledge as Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager. Jessica will play an instrumental role in assisting with our strategic growth efforts into Northwest Georgia, specifically Bartow, Gordon, Paulding, and North Cobb Counties.

Jessica joins our team with over 15 years of industry experience including Real Estate, Commercial Banking, and Bank Management. Most recently she served as Vice President, Commercial Lender for Cornerstone Bank in Atlanta. Prior to that, Jessica was a Market President with Northside Bank, now First National Community Bank, where she was responsible for the Calhoun and Adairsville markets. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Shorter University.

Jessica is deeply connected to the communities of Bartow and Gordon Counties where she has lived and worked most of her life. She has a passion for the people and small businesses in these communities and often can be found volunteering her time and talents to local non-profit or civic organizations.

Full-Service Branch Opening in Blairsville, Georgia

River City Bank is pleased to announce the opening of a new branch location in Blairsville, Georgia at 206 Highway 515, at the intersection near Ingles and CVS, and next door to Chick-Fil-A. The location is expected to open in 2022, immediately following the completion of the construction process, converting the former Fatz restaurant to a full-service branch. The opening date as well as the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration for the branch will be announced closer to the completion of construction.

In late 2020, River City Bank expanded its markets into Blairsville by opening a location just off the downtown square at 215 Blue Ridge Street, Suite A to operate as a Mortgage and Loan Office, offering comprehensive personal and business loan products and services. “We have already experienced tremendous success in Union County,” stated Market Executive, Andy Williams. “We have a great team of bankers who are true financial partners with our clients, and we are thrilled to expand and offer a complete suite of products and services from a community bank here in Blairsville,” stated Senior Vice President, Scott Nanney. Jamie Tallent joins River City as President and CEO

Rome, GA, March 18, 2019 – – River City Bank announced today that Jamie Tallent has been named the President and CEO of the bank and its parent company, RCB Financial Corporation (collectively, the “Company”). Tallent succeeds Roger Smith who retired February 28, 2019.

As President and CEO, Tallent will be responsible for strategic direction and operational performance of the Company. “River City Bank is uniquely positioned with Jamie as President and CEO to leverage our strong balance sheet and efficient operations into a top performing bank in Rome and across the state” according to C. King Askew, Chairman of the Board. “The bank is still young, having opened in 2006 and successfully navigated the economic downturn and recession. Our Board and team members have worked extremely hard to ensure we built and maintained a solid foundation for a successful community bank through a difficult time. Now we look forward to the future.”

According to Askew, “Jamie Tallent is a proven senior banking professional with 24 years of experience working in the financial services industry. Our Board is extremely excited to bring Jamie to River City Bank. We are a community bank with a lot of potential. Our officers, staff and shareholders will immediately benefit from Jamie’s leadership.”

Earlier today, Tallent communicated a strong desire to work hand in hand with the Board and staff to continue to build what will become River City Bank. “Our story is still being written. Tallent has deep roots in Georgia banking communities, having served in high level positions with several banks, including Fidelity Southern where he served as Senior Vice President/Region Commercial Executive and United Community Bank where he served as a Market President for Gilmer and Pickens Counties. Tallent has served in numerous civic leadership roles throughout his career, entrenching himself in the community, while also focusing on the banking industry by holding seats with the Leadership Division Board of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia and the Georgia Bankers Association PAC Board.

Tallent is a graduate of Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics with a BBA in Accounting and Finance. He lives in Rome and has 2 daughters.
