River City Bank Hosts a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening Celebration in Blairsville, Georgia

River City Bank hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration on August 3rd at its new Mortgage and Loan Office in Union County, Georgia. The easily accessible location is just off the square in downtown Blairsville at 215 Blue Ridge Street, Suite A.

Jamie Tallent, President and CEO of River City Bank commented, “It is exciting to expand our geographic footprint to serve the lending needs of North Georgia and we are delighted to be a part of the Blairsville community. Shane Walley Sharpens Skills at Banking School

Shane Walley with River City Bank in Rome, Georgia attended the 2022 on-campus session of the Georgia Banking School as a first-year student.  Established in 1961, the Georgia Banking School is a three-year specialized school run by the Georgia Bankers Association. The purpose of the school is to prepare bank managers to effectively and profitably serve their hometowns by developing a thorough understanding of banking practices, regulations and management principles.

During the course of the three-year program, participants complete an annual one-week residence session at the University of Georgia in Athens as well as home study problems between sessions. The school provides a well-balanced curriculum featuring UGA faculty members, veteran bankers and other industry experts and specialists.

“For 61 years this school has been a highly effective resource for developing the leadership talents of Georgia bankers,” said Banking School Director Darron Burnette, Division CEO, South Georgia/North Florida, Synovus Bank. “It is common for graduates of the program to go on to become senior executives and bank CEOs as their careers grow.”

Established in 1892, the Georgia Bankers Association is the trade and professional organization representing Georgia’s commercial banks and thrift institutions. Rachel Harris Joins River City Bank as Vice President, Director of Treasury Management Services

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Rachel Harris as Vice President, Director of Treasury Management Services. In this new role, Ms. Harris will manage all aspects of River City Bank’s Treasury Management line of business, overseeing the organization, planning, and strategic direction of all Treasury Management services. She will also be responsible for all internal and external sales strategies, including customer and prospect identification, analysis, and proposals. Ms. Harris will manage all efforts on payment strategies and technology innovation related to Treasury Management. She will lead the customer onboarding process and the operational support team, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Ms. Harris brings over three decades of banking experience to this role, specializing in project management, deposit operations, retail banking, compliance, and information security. She is a results-driven, banking professional with a successful track record of leading teams to deliver exceptional customer service. Ms. Harris is a graduate of the Georgia Banking School at the University of Georgia, as well as the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, where she earned a Certificate in Executive Leadership Experience.

Terri Ainsworth Joins River City Bank as Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Terri Ainsworth as Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer. In this role, she will be responsible for originating both conventional and government-sponsored residential mortgage loans for the secondary market.

Ms. Ainsworth joins the River City Bank team as a veteran banker, bringing over 20 years of mortgage lending experience to her role. She is a graduate of Model High School and attended Kennesaw State University. Ms. Ainsworth was voted by her peers as Best Mortgage Lender in the “Best of Rome” awards presented by the Rome News Tribune for three consecutive years in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

With over four decades of banking experience in the Rome-Floyd County community, Ms. Chumbler brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her new role. She has earned a reputation as a highly respected and trusted banking professional, with expertise in both commercial and consumer lending, personal banking, and executive-level management. Ms. Chumbler’s personal approach to banking and unwavering dedication to her clients have established her as a pillar in our local community.

Ms. Chumbler’s community involvement spans decades. She currently serves on several boards affiliated with Atrium Health Floyd, including the Atrium Floyd Healthcare Management, Inc. Board of Trustees, the Floyd-Polk Medical Center Board, and the Cherokee Medical Center Board, where she serves as Chairman. She also plays an active role on the Finance and Investment Committee, Community Benefits Committee, and chairs the Indigent Care Task Force. Additionally, she is a board member of the newly established Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Foundation and serves on the Finance and Compliance Committee of The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority.

Throughout her career, Ms. Chumbler has been active in numerous local organizations, including past service on the Rome Rotary Club (where she served three terms as treasurer), Chieftains Museum, Rome Symphony Orchestra, and the Rome-Floyd Chamber of Commerce, where she was named Chamber Ambassador of the Year. She also volunteers with the Community Criminal Justice Foundation and serves as treasurer for the Cherokee County Chapter of The University of Alabama Alumni Association. A passionate animal advocate, she is active in fundraising for Claws for Paws, also known as Rome for the Rescues. Ms. Chumbler previously served as a county commissioner in Cherokee County, Alabama. Kay’s heart for service and strong ties to the people and organizations of our region make her an ideal addition to the River City Bank family.

Ms. Chumbler and her husband Rickey reside on a family farm that has been home to now six generations of her family. They are parents to two adult sons, one grandson, and a granddaughter due very soon.

Rebecca Gilliam Receives Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Rebecca Gilliam, Director of Technology & Digital Services, has earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. This certification is offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is recognized throughout the world as the gold standard of project management. A PMP is an experienced project manager who is certified and trained to direct teams toward a project goal.

To obtain a PMP certification, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:

    • Education – Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university, and at least 35 hours of formal project management education.
    • Experience – At least 4,500 hours leading and directing projects.
    • Knowledge – Pass the PMP examination

River City Bank’s Union County Retail Team Is Complete

River City Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of three new team members, completing their local retail banking team in Union County. The bank’s full-service Blairsville Office is scheduled to open June 13th at 206 Highway 515.

Amanda Goode, Stephanie Miller, and Austin Pattee have joined River City Bank’s full-service Blairsville Office as Universal Bankers. They will be responsible for establishing and cultivating customer relationships, including processing banking transactions, and opening deposit accounts. As Universal Bankers, they are equipped to handle a wide range of customer-related responsibilities and can manage customer requests from beginning to end.

With over ten years of customer service and cash handling experience, Amanda Goode most recently worked as a teller and branch banker at a financial institution where she opened accounts, processed loans, and made referrals to other lines of business within the bank. Amanda’s enthusiastic personality and customer-focused mentality are qualities that will serve customers well in Union County.

Stephanie Miller has fourteen years of supervisory experience with the most recent five years at a financial institution. She was responsible for training and supervision of tellers, daily branch operations, as well as adherence to all security procedures. Her aptitude for problem solving as well as her attention to detail make her a great fit to lead River City Bank’s Union County teller team.

Austin Pattee is a Blairsville native with four years of experience in customer service, most recently serving as a teller at a financial institution. His affinity for numbers and finance as well as his lifelong tie to the Blairsville area will be an asset for River City Bank.

Amanda, Stephanie, and Austin will be joining Katie Mashburn as members of the bank’s retail team. This dynamic group of individuals will provide our customers in Union County with high-touch client focused service which is at the heart of River City Bank’s mission.
