Gilliam and Mayo Promoted to Vice President

River City Bank is proud to announce the promotions of Rebecca Gilliam and Sandra Mayo. Gilliam has been promoted to Vice President, Director of Marketing, and Mayo to Vice President, Director of Information Technology.

Gilliam joined River City Bank in 2019 as Director of Technology and Digital Services. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, digital services, and technology, with 14 of those in the banking industry. Gilliam is a graduate of the University of Northwestern with a B.S. degree in Business Management and holds a B.A. in Theological Studies from Indiana Bible College. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Gilliam was recently selected to participate in the 2021 Leadership Union program sponsored by the Blairsville, Union County Chamber of Commerce.

“Rebecca has been a tremendous asset to our company since joining the team in 2019. She is an instrumental member of our strategic team and in her new role will be leading marketing initiatives for the Bank,” stated Jamie Tallent, President & CEO.

In her spare time, Gilliam enjoys spending time with her Malt-Tzu dogs, cruising mountain roads in her Miata, and traveling internationally.

Mayo has been with River City Bank for 14 years as IT Manager, overseeing the bank’s IT department, and assisting operationally with all online and digital banking projects. Her 37 years in the banking industry also includes tenure with First National Bank of Polk County where she worked in multiple areas such as bookkeeping, technology, data processing, and network administration.

“Sandra’s expertise has been invaluable to our company, and her commitment to River City has proven to be a benefit for us all,” stated Jamie C. Tallent, President & CEO.

Mayo holds Associates degrees in Cisco and Microsoft Networking from Georgia Northwestern Technical College and earned her certification from New Horizons Technical School for Server Administration. She also holds numerous other certifications related to information technology.

Mayo enjoys spending time camping with her family and pets.

Alicia Durden Joins RCB Team

Alicia Durden joins River City Bank as SVP/Chief Operations Officer & Information Security Officer

River City Bank is proud to announce the addition of Alicia Durden as Senior Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, and Information Security Officer. Alicia has responsibility for leading the design, enhancement, implementation, and oversight of Deposit and Loan Operations, Branch Operations, Information Technology, Compliance, and Facilities. She will also lead the bank in building, implementing, and overseeing all systems, processes, operational workflows, and procedures.

Alicia joins River City Bank from Cornerstone Bank where she recently served as Senior Vice President, Director of Operations. She brings with her 25 years of operations, compliance, human resource management, risk management and IT experience. She has served in senior level banking positions such as Chief Operating Officer, Enterprise Risk Management Officer, CRA Officer, BSA Officer, Compliance Officer, Merger/Acquisition Project Lead, and Information Security Officer. Alicia is very result-oriented and constantly strives to optimize operational efficiency. She has a passion for people and leadership. Alicia is a certified leadership coach with the John Maxwell Team.

Spreading Christmas Cheer

Santa and Mrs. Claus brought the Christmas Spirit with them to our annual Open House Celebration at our Rome Main Office. They enjoyed talking to all of the children and hearing their wish lists for Christmas.

Chris Hendrix Joins River City Bank as Assistant VP, Branch Manager

River City Bank announces Chris Hendrix has joined the bank as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager in Rome, Georgia.  In addition to managing the daily operations of the Rome Retail Team, Chris will be responsible for providing financial solutions for clients, to include consumer and small business lending.  

Chris attended Georgia Highlands College and Kennesaw State University, where he earned a degree in Business Management. He has over 14 years of banking experience including retail operations, branch management, and consumer and small business lending. 

Jamie Tallent, President & CEO, stated “We are pleased to welcome Chris to the River City Bank team.  His strong background in retail banking and passion for serving clients makes him a great fit to lead our branch team in Rome.”

Chris, being a servant leader, has a passion for serving his community, and he does this by volunteering his time and experience with the local Chamber of Commerce as well as civic and non-profit associations. 

Eric Collins Joins River City Bank as Vice President & Branch Manager in Blairsville

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Eric B. Collins as Vice President and Branch Manager of the Bank’s Blairsville location, currently operating as a Mortgage and Loan Office at 215 Blue Ridge Street, Suite A.  River City Bank’s full-service Blairsville office is scheduled to open this Spring at 206 Highway 515.

Eric graduated from Shorter University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. He holds an Associate of Science degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) and is also a graduate of the Georgia Banking School sponsored by the Georgia Bankers Association. Eric has been serving the financial needs of the Blairsville Community for more than 20 years.

Scott Nanney Named Market President in Blairsville

River City Bank announces the recent promotion of Scott Nanney to Market President in Blairsville, Georgia. Scott joined the River City team in November 2020 as Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager at the bank’s Mortgage and Loan Office in Blairsville. River City Bank’s full-service Blairsville office is scheduled to open this Spring at 206 Highway 515.

“Scott has been instrumental in our strategic expansion into Northeast Georgia and leading our Blairsville team. He consistently exceeds expectations and is always leading by example. Cody Ching Joins River City Bank as AVP, Mortgage Loan Officer

River City Bank announces the addition of Cody Ching as AVP, Mortgage Loan Officer for the Bank’s Blairsville market. Cody will be providing financing solutions for home purchases and refinances, as well as home construction. He will be at the Bank’s Blairsville location, currently operating as a Mortgage and Loan Office at 215 Blue Ridge Street, Suite A. River City Bank’s full service Blairsville office is scheduled to open this Spring at 206 Highway 515.

Cody recently returned to Blairsville from Oregon where he was a Mortgage Loan Officer in the greater Portland area.  Prior to moving to Portland, he served the community of Union County, Georgia as a consumer and small business lender.

Cody brings both a mortgage background along with his experience as a residential real estate and consumer lender. Cody is eager to reconnect with old friends and clients and hopes to leverage those meaningful relationships he established in the past while successfully serving the citizens within the community. Katie Mashburn Joins River City Bank

Katie Mashburn Joins River City Bank as AVP, Senior Personal Banker and Branch Development Officer in Blairsville

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Katie Mashburn as Assistant Vice President, Senior Personal Banker and Branch Development Officer at the Bank’s full-service Blairsville Office that is tentatively scheduled to open in early June at 206 Highway 515.

Katie’s responsibilities will include cultivating meaningful client relationships, offering tailored financial solutions to help clients achieve their financial goals. She will also help establish core deposits from retail and business clients by providing high touch client-focused service which is at the heart of River City Bank’s mission. In addition, Katie will assist in coordinating local marketing and community initiatives in Blairsville.

Katie is a Blairsville native with 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, serving clients in her hometown. She was most recently affiliated with Harry Norman, REALTORS® as a licensed real estate salesperson.

Katie is a graduate of Converse University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English. In her free time, you can find her volunteering with the children and adult ministries at First United Methodist Church of Union County or helping her husband coach recreation league basketball and baseball. Katie has been an Ambassador for the Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce and is a former member of the Georgia Bankers Association’s (GBA) Human Resources Committee.

Shane Walley Sharpens Skills at Banking School

Shane Walley with River City Bank in Rome, Georgia attended the 2022 on-campus session of the Georgia Banking School as a first-year student.  Established in 1961, the Georgia Banking School is a three-year specialized school run by the Georgia Bankers Association. The purpose of the school is to prepare bank managers to effectively and profitably serve their hometowns by developing a thorough understanding of banking practices, regulations and management principles.

During the course of the three-year program, participants complete an annual one-week residence session at the University of Georgia in Athens as well as home study problems between sessions. The school provides a well-balanced curriculum featuring UGA faculty members, veteran bankers and other industry experts and specialists.

“For 61 years this school has been a highly effective resource for developing the leadership talents of Georgia bankers,” said Banking School Director Darron Burnette, Division CEO, South Georgia/North Florida, Synovus Bank. “It is common for graduates of the program to go on to become senior executives and bank CEOs as their careers grow.”

Established in 1892, the Georgia Bankers Association is the trade and professional organization representing Georgia’s commercial banks and thrift institutions. For 130 years, the GBA has provided Georgia’s banks with top-quality professional development, revenue-enhancing products and services, government relations and public advocacy.
