Scott Nanney Named Market President in Blairsville

River City Bank announces the recent promotion of Scott Nanney to Market President in Blairsville, Georgia. Scott joined the River City team in November 2020 as Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager at the bank’s Mortgage and Loan Office in Blairsville. River City Bank’s full-service Blairsville office is scheduled to open this Spring at 206 Highway 515.

“Scott has been instrumental in our strategic expansion into Northeast Georgia and leading our Blairsville team. He consistently exceeds expectations and is always leading by example. Scott is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Finance. He is also a graduate of the Georgia Banking School in Athens, Georgia. Scott has served the North Georgia market for the past 18 years as a commercial and consumer lender.

Jamie Tallent Installed as Board Member of the Georgia Bankers Association

ATLANTA – Jamie C. Tallent, President and CEO of River City Bank in Rome, has been elected by his peers in north Georgia to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA).

“We are delighted to welcome Jamie to the GBA board, and we look forward to benefiting from his wealth of experience and insight for the betterment of the industry and, most importantly, the communities, families and businesses that Georgia’s banks serve,” said Kim Wilson, GBA chairman and president and CEO of OneSouth Bank in Macon.

Tallent has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry. He joined River City Bank as president and CEO in 2019 after having served in high level positions with several banks.

Tallent earned his B.B.A. in accounting and finance from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics. He is also a 1999 graduate of the Georgia Banking School.

Active with the association, Tallent has long been a member of the GBA BankPAC Board of Directors.

River City Bank Welcomes Dan West as Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Dan West as Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager. In this role, Dan will assist in driving the bank’s strategic growth initiatives in North Georgia, focusing on Bartow and Polk Counties.

West brings over 20 years of comprehensive banking experience to River City Bank, with expertise in Branch and Market Management, Mortgage Lending, Small Business Lending, and Commercial Lending. Prior to joining River City Bank, he served as Senior Vice President and Cartersville Market President at First National Community Bank.

A graduate of Berry College, West earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. His professional education includes the Community Bankers Association (CBA) Consumer Lending and Commercial Lending Schools, the Capstone Institute of Mortgage Finance, Moody’s Risk Analyst Training, and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU.

West has deep roots in Polk and Bartow Counties, where he has lived and worked for most of his life. His strong community ties and extensive banking experience make him uniquely positioned to serve the financial needs of the area.

Gilliam and Mayo Promoted to Vice President

River City Bank is proud to announce the promotions of Rebecca Gilliam and Sandra Mayo. Gilliam has been promoted to Vice President, Director of Marketing, and Mayo to Vice President, Director of Information Technology.

Gilliam joined River City Bank in 2019 as Director of Technology and Digital Services. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, digital services, and technology, with 14 of those in the banking industry. Gilliam is a graduate of the University of Northwestern with a B.S. degree in Business Management and holds a B.A. in Theological Studies from Indiana Bible College. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Gilliam was recently selected to participate in the 2021 Leadership Union program sponsored by the Blairsville, Union County Chamber of Commerce.

“Rebecca has been a tremendous asset to our company since joining the team in 2019. She is an instrumental member of our strategic team and in her new role will be leading marketing initiatives for the Bank,” stated Jamie Tallent, President & CEO.

In her spare time, Gilliam enjoys spending time with her Malt-Tzu dogs, cruising mountain roads in her Miata, and traveling internationally.

Mayo has been with River City Bank for 14 years as IT Manager, overseeing the bank’s IT department, and assisting operationally with all online and digital banking projects. Her 37 years in the banking industry also includes tenure with First National Bank of Polk County where she worked in multiple areas such as bookkeeping, technology, data processing, and network administration.

Mayo holds Associates degrees in Cisco and Microsoft Networking from Georgia Northwestern Technical College and earned her certification from New Horizons Technical School for Server Administration. She also holds numerous other certifications related to information technology.

Mayo enjoys spending time camping with her family and pets.

Cody Ching Joins River City Bank as AVP, Mortgage Loan Officer

River City Bank announces the addition of Cody Ching as AVP, Mortgage Loan Officer for the Bank’s Blairsville market. Cody will be providing financing solutions for home purchases and refinances, as well as home construction. He will be at the Bank’s Blairsville location, currently operating as a Mortgage and Loan Office at 215 Blue Ridge Street, Suite A. River City Bank’s full service Blairsville office is scheduled to open this Spring at 206 Highway 515.

Cody recently returned to Blairsville from Oregon where he was a Mortgage Loan Officer in the greater Portland area.  Prior to moving to Portland, he served the community of Union County, Georgia as a consumer and small business lender.

Cody brings both a mortgage background along with his experience as a residential real estate and consumer lender. Rhonda Wallace Joins River City Bank as VP, Commercial Relationship Manager

In this role, Ms. Wallace will be responsible for cultivating loan and deposit relationships while offering other banking services and solutions to prospective business and consumer clients.

With over 40 years of banking experience in the Rome-Floyd County community, Ms. Wallace brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her new role. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation as a highly respected and trusted banking professional with expertise in consumer and commercial lending, residential construction, and residential mortgage. Rhonda possesses strong business development skills and enjoys building meaningful, long-lasting customer relationships.

She is the past Chair of the Rome-Floyd County Planning Commission and a past board member of the Rome-Floyd Chamber.

As an elected member of the Floyd County Board of Commissions, Ms. Wallace currently serves as Chairman of the Elected Officials Committee. She also serves as an alternate on the Public Safety Committee, is a member of the Rome-Floyd SPLOST Overview Committee, a member of Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful, a member of the Transportation Policy Committee, and a board member of the Sarah Hightower Regional Library.

Ms. Wallace has earned numerous accolades and awards throughout her career, including The Heart of the Community Award, the Woman of Excellence Award, and the Wesley Johnson Leadership Award of Merit, just to name a few. She is a Rome-Floyd Chamber Leadership Rome graduate and was named the first recipient of the Ambassador of the Year Award from the Chamber.

Ms. Wallace and her husband, Ronnie Wallace, reside in Rome and have been married for 30 years. Together, they have three children and six grandchildren. They are members of West Rome Baptist Church.

William Wade Joins River City Bank as Senior VP/Commercial Relationship Manager

River City Bank is proud to announce the addition of William S. Wade as Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager. In his role as Commercial Relationship Manager, Will’s responsibilities will include identifying and expanding business relationships, and delivering financial products and services to both new and existing clients in North Georgia. Will joins our team with over 20 years of Real Estate, Commercial Banking, and Senior Management Banking experience, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Market President for Pinnacle Bank in Lumpkin/Dawson Counties.

Will has established a successful career in both banking and public service, serving for over two decades primarily in Dawson and Lumpkin Counties. In 2017 he was recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia Trend’s “40 under 40” recipients. Will was also nominated by his peers to serve in 2017 – 2018 as the Rotary District 6910 Assistant District Governor for Dawson, Lumpkin and White Counties for Rotary International.

Will is deeply connected to the communities of North Georgia volunteering and serving on multiple civic organizations, to include serving on the Dawson County Board of Education from 2004 – 2020, Division of Child Support Services, Georgia’s 9th Congressional District Representative for the NSBA Advocacy Institute just to name a few. Additionally, Will was appointed by former Governor, Sonny Perdue, to serve on the Georgia Mountain Regional Commission, the NSBA Advocacy Institute, and most recently was elected last November as the State House Representative for District 9. Will has a passion for serving the citizens, small businesses, and communities of North Georgia and feels he best serves those needs as a banker and an elected official for our state.

Katie Mashburn Joins River City Bank

Katie Mashburn Joins River City Bank as AVP, Senior Personal Banker and Branch Development Officer in Blairsville

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Katie Mashburn as Assistant Vice President, Senior Personal Banker and Branch Development Officer at the Bank’s full-service Blairsville Office that is tentatively scheduled to open in early June at 206 Highway 515.

Katie’s responsibilities will include cultivating meaningful client relationships, offering tailored financial solutions to help clients achieve their financial goals. She will also help establish core deposits from retail and business clients by providing high touch client-focused service which is at the heart of River City Bank’s mission. In addition, Katie will assist in coordinating local marketing and community initiatives in Blairsville.

Katie is a Blairsville native with 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, serving clients in her hometown. She was most recently affiliated with Harry Norman, REALTORS® as a licensed real estate salesperson.

Matt Robbins Joins River City Bank as Executive Vice President, Chief Banking Officer

River City Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Robbins as Executive Vice President, Chief Banking Officer. In this role, Robbins will be an integral part of the Company’s executive management team. His responsibilities will include organizing, planning, and strategically directing the activities of retail, deposits, commercial lending, treasury management, Fintech, and marketing functions of the bank. Robbins will assist in developing and implementing short-term and long-term financial objectives and executing strategic business goals. He will be responsible for the corporate sales culture and the consistent execution of the Company’s sales strategies. Robbins will also supervise the overall customer experience while driving dynamic relationship growth and ensuring enterprise-risk management.

With over 15 years of experience in community banking, Robbins brings expertise in special assets management, SBA lending, commercial lending, loan administration, portfolio management, as well as executive management. Robbins is a graduate of the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking, where he earned special recognition for outstanding performance in Bank Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Economics from The University of Georgia, where he played baseball for four years.

He is a Champion Board Member for Extra Special People, Inc. (ESP).
